Give Us Your Blood!!!

It is for a good cause!

This Tuesday (the 10th) on the TWU Dallas-Parkland campus, we will be hosting a blood drive to benefit KaliMarie. She is a six-month-old (who will be celebrating her seven monthday) on the day of our blood drive. She was diagnosed with AML, a form of leukemia, on April 4th. She has finished one round of chemotherapy & will be beginning her second round shortly.

Please keep this baby girl in your prayers.

If you can come out to our blood drive, you can sign up using this link to the Carter Sign Up Page and if you cannot attend, you can go to any Carter Bloodcare & give them the number/code SPON050646 and they will make sure the credits get to her!

Good luck with finals all of you who have them! I finished my second class of my last semester today. ONE MORE LEFT!!

Wedding Energy-- One month out!

Less than 6 days until I'm done with all of my final exams in my undergraduate career. WHOA! You would think that because of that I must have lots of studying energy, but I don't. I do, however, have lots of wedding energy.

My copy of my bridal portrait is just sitting in my inbox. It is so wonderful, I want to share it with the world. However, I cannot. I think it is bad wedding joojoo, or something. So instead, I decided to share with those of you who have not yet seen our Save the Date or wedding invitation just how wonderful they turned out. Thank you to Office Depot for having such an easily maneuverable print website & thank you to Hobby Lobby for such cheap and wonderful do-it-yourself invitations.

For the Save The Dates, we ordered what turned out to be prints with a text box on them for $22.73 through Office Depot. They shipped to the Office Depot that I chose and the pick up was extra easy! We bought adhesive magnets from Walmart and stuck them on to 130 of those suckers for less than $10. $16.16 for the envelopes put the total cost just under $48.39 for 140 Save The Dates! I was amazed at how cheap it was to do it! For the postage, they weighed just the perfect amount with the magnets so each one only cost the same amount as mailing a letter!

For the invitations, I got the do-it-yourself packs at Hobby Lobby. They were regularly $24.99 for 50, but Hobby Lobby seems to always have their wedding stuff 50% off. So for 150, they ended up being $40.48 total. The only downside to the ones that I picked is that they are the big square invitations, so USPS required extra postage. I believe each one was $0.61 to mail (so a little additional cost that I didn't consider). We printed them on my parents wonderful HP printer. I don't think 150 of them touched the ink levels on that thing--so it was minimal printing cost! I'm so happy with them!

I am very happy with how they turned out!

It is officially one month to the wedding! In exactly one month, I will be Mrs. Seth King. :) That sounds so very good!

As a lot of you know, I love countdowns. I have recently learned how much I love count-ups, too. 1535 days ago Seth and I went on our first date. We knew it was going to be long-distance and we knew it was going to be hard but we did it anyways. I love him so much & I cannot believe that after this long wait, I finally get to be his wife! ONE MONTH!!
